Scientific Interest
My scientific interest regards the approximation by finite elements of partial
differential equations. In particular I worked on:
-
Error estimates for mixed finite elements applied to elliptic second
order problems and to the Mindlin-Reissner model for plates of moderate
thickness.
- Domain decomposition methods for hyperbolic systems, for transport
equations and for advection dominated advetcion-diffusion problems.
- Approximation of eigenproblems arising in different fields as
fluid-structure interactions and electromagnetics.
- Evolution problem in moving domains.
- Fluid-structure interaction systems.
- Immersed boundary method.
- Eigenvalue problems for PDE.
- Adaptive finite element methods.
